Dr Phillips charities has announced that it’s on the hunt for a third party operator for its recently-announced Southern Box Food Hall. Commercial real estate services firm JLL is executing that hunt. The operator would be charged with overseeing all operations for the food hall, including the identification of the restaurant tenants. Another large-scale development, The Yard at Ivanhoe, recently announced the operator of its food hall: Tampa-based, Vigor Group, which created and manages Hall on Franklin food hall in Tampa. TRANSCRIPT: Fashion Square Mall will be completely leveled according to Growthspotter. The mall, built in the 70s, will be replaced with an outdoor mixed use development with a grocery story, hotel, apartments, offices, restaurants and entertainment destinations. Unicorp National Developments has a contract to buy the property beneath what remains of the mall for $23 million dollars. This new development will not include the Floor and Decor and never-opened Orchard Hardware buildings next door to the mall. A food hall may be coming to the @IvanhoeVillage main street district according to the Tampa Business Journal. They’re saying The Yard at Ivanhoe, a large 591-unit mixed use development under construction in Ivanhoe Village, is in talks with the owner of a food hall in Tampa called @thehallonfranklin to build a food hall inside a portion of the 31,000 sq ft of retail space within the development.
Construction on the Luckys Market across from Floor and Decor and Orlando Fashion Square Mall has begun with a scheduled opening set for May. Some of the large scale grocery stores in that area of Orlando are now busy making improvements to combat this new grocery store entrant. The Publix inside Baldwin Park is adding a by-the-pound food bar to the deli like both Luckys and Whole Foods are known for and new health items near the front door. The Target catty corner to the Luckys shopping center began its storewide overhaul over a month ago. It’s already installed a full size Starbucks just inside the front door, moved departments from one end of the store to the next, and is in the midst of a new exterior paint job.
